David Elwood Norris was born to David Edward Norris and Lula Anne Charles Norris in Philadelphia, PA. His family and friends affectionately called him Butch. He was educated in the Philadelphia school system. He loved helping others which caused him to be drawn to the Philadelphia Fire Department, which he served faithfully for 27yrs until illness forced him into retirement.
Butch was known for his contagious giant smile. We all loved the family gathers especially, Holidays, barbeques. Let’s not forget cooking crabs the hotter the better.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Brother Richard Norris, Sisters Joyce Reid and Christina Watson.
He leaves to remember him his 3 sons Eric Reid Sr (Patricia) Sicklerville NJ, 2 daughters Charlene Summers (James) Atlanta, GA, David Norris (TX), Joesph Norris (Seatle WA), Rashen Norris Phila. 5 Grandchildren Eric M Reid Jr, Natasha L Hopkins, Charoles A Reid, Robert L Hopkins III. 4 great grandchildren Celita M. Reid, Cameron A. Reid, Aden Reid, Noah A. Reid and Vincent Oliver.
Special memory for to caregiver Monica Debrest Las Vegas NV who cared for Butch until his death. A host of family and friends.
